Steeds meer organisaties gebruiken Smart Label Printing voor de traceerbaarheid van hun producten. Zo ook het bekende Amerikaanse Themeworks. Op hun productielocatie in High Springs, Florida maken ze alles wat je je kunt bedenken. Zoals ze zelf zeggen: ‘We shape experiences’ en ‘You dream it. We build it.’ Dat doen ze vooral voor musea, pretparken en dierentuinen. Denk aan een levensgrote Grammy voor het Grammy Museum of Harry Potter decorstukken voor Universal, maar ook het hele decor voor het Antartica-deel van Sea World in Orlando.
Dit zijn grote projecten, waarvoor ze met Smartsheet werken. Daar hebben ze nu met onze hulp Smart Label Printing aan toegevoegd. We spraken Yuset Cueto, productiecoördinator bij Themeworks, over de aanleiding hiervoor en hoe het bevalt om ermee te werken.
De zoektocht naar meer grip en traceerbaarheid
De grootste uitdaging waar ze bij Themeworks tegenaan liepen was het traceerbaar maken van alle materialen die gebruikt worden voor de projecten. Het kostte daardoor soms onnodig veel tijd om benodigdheden terug te vinden. “Omdat we al met Smartsheet werkten wilde ik graag iets vinden dat daaraan te koppelen is zodat we de traceerbaarheidsproblemen konden oplossen,” geeft Yuset aan.
In zijn zoektocht kwam Yuset eerst in aanraking met onze Inline QR Generator, waarmee je in Smartsheet QR-codes kunt genereren. “Toen zag ik dat je met Smart Label Printing ook labels kunt printen vanuit Smartsheet. Volgens mij is er geen enkele andere oplossing waarmee dat mogelijk is. Daarnaast moest het team er makkelijk mee kunnen werken. Niet iedereen heeft evenveel technische kennis en als het te moeilijk is, wordt het niet gebruikt. Smart Label Printing bleek hieraan te voldoen” aldus Yuset.
Flexibel en eenvoudig in gebruik
Vanuit Smart4B hielpen we om alles op de juiste manier in te richten en het proces zo eenvoudig mogelijk te maken. Yuset vertelt: “Tot nu toe werkt het systeem probleemloos, dus ik heb er niet veel mee bezig hoeven zijn. Het is fijn dat het zo goed werkt. Het enige nadeel dat het met zich meebrengt is dat ik soms vergeten ben hoe het moet als ik wel een aanpassing wil doen. Op dat soort momenten heeft Smart4B me veel geholpen.”
Maar welke voordelen ondervinden ze bij Themeworks nou door het gebruik van Smart Label Printing? “Het maakt het voor ons mogelijk om alles te tracken wat we inkopen en vervolgens opslaan tot we het gebruiken. Tot nu toe is er nog niets zoekgeraakt of op de verkeerde plek terecht gekomen. Daarnaast is Smart Label Printing heel flexibel in gebruik. De QR-codes op de producten linken nu naar de lijst met materialen van het project waar ze bij horen. Uiteindelijk gaan we de QR-codes op de labels koppelen aan de tekeningen van onze projecten. Die zijn dan via Smartsheet toegankelijk.”
Een soepele samenwerking
“Het werken met Smart4B ging heel soepel,” vertelt Yuset. “Ik kreeg antwoord op al mijn vragen en was soms zelfs verbaasd over de tijden waarop ik antwoord kreeg, gezien het tijdsverschil. Ze hebben goed geholpen om er een vlekkeloze overgang van te maken. Vooraf hadden we wel een idee van wat we wilden, maar Smart4B heeft geholpen om het zo te implementeren dat het optimaal werkt. Het is niet wat ik vooraf had bedacht, maar het heeft zelfs beter uitgepakt. Ik denk dat er nog heel veel mogelijkheden voor ons zijn om het gebruik verder uit te breiden.”

Themeworks chooses Smart Label Printing for better traceability
More and more organizations are using Smart Label Printing for the traceability of their products. This includes the well-known American company Themeworks. At their production site in High Springs, Florida, they make everything you can imagine. As they say themselves: “We shape experiences” and “You dream it. We build it.‘ They do this mainly for museums, amusement parks, and zoos. Think of a giant sized Grammy for the Grammy Museum or Harry Potter set pieces for Universal, but also the entire set for the Antarctica section of Sea World in Orlando.
These are large-scale projects, for which they work with Smartsheet. With our help, they have now added Smart Label Printing. We spoke to Yuset Cueto, production coordinator at Themeworks, about the reason for this and how they like working with it.
The search for more control and traceability
The biggest challenge Themeworks faced was making all the project materials traceable. It would sometimes take an unnecessary amount of time to find the needed items. “Since we were already working with Smartsheet, I wanted to find something that could be linked to it so we could solve the traceability issues,” Yuset explains.
In his search, Yuset first came across our Inline QR Generator, which allows you to generate QR codes in Smartsheet. Yuset: “Then I saw that Smart Label Printing also allows you to print labels from Smartsheet. I don’t think there is any other solution that allows you to do that. In addition, the solution had to be easy for the team to work with. Not everyone has the same level of technical knowledge, and if it’s too difficult, it won’t be used. Smart Label Printing turned out to meet these requirements“.
Flexible and easy to use
At Smart4B, we helped set everything up correctly and make the process as simple as possible. Yuset explains: “So far, the system has been working flawlessly, so I haven’t had to spend much time on it. It’s great that it works so well. The only downside is that I sometimes forget how to make adjustments when I want to. At times like that, Smart4B has been a big help.”
But what advantages does Themeworks see with the use of Smart Label Printing? Yuset explains: “It allows us to track everything we purchase and then store it until we use it. So far, nothing has been lost or ended up in the wrong place. In addition, Smart Label Printing is very flexible to use. The QR codes on the products now link to the list of materials for the project they belong to. Ultimately, we will link the QR codes on the labels to the drawings of our projects. These will then be accessible via Smartsheet.“
Smooth collaboration
“Working with Smart4B went very smoothly,” says Yuset. “All my questions were answered, and I was sometimes even surprised at how quickly I received a response, given the time difference. They helped us make a seamless transition. We had an idea of what we wanted beforehand, but Smart4B helped us implement it in a way that works optimally. It’s not what I had envisioned beforehand, but it turned out even better. I think there are still many opportunities for us to expand its use.“
